Whole Health, Pure Performance
Introducing the SmartFlow® Reverse Osmosis, Aquasana's brand-new, high-efficiency reverse osmosis system that provides you with optimum health and hydration. This RO system combines Aquasana's Claryum® filtration technology with reverse osmosis technology to remove up to 99.99% of 90 contaminants, including fluoride, arsenic, lead, chlorine, microplastics, PFOA/PFOS, and more. The SmartFlow® Reverse Osmosis boasts one of the highest certified contaminant removal rates of all reverse osmosis systems on the market. In fact, it’s certified to reduce 89 more contaminants than Amazon’s top-selling RO system is certified to reduce.*
Featuring our patented SmartFlow® technology, this system provides you with more pure water, less water waste, and longer filter life than the average RO filter. The SmartFlow® Reverse Osmosis water filter boasts a 57% greater efficiency percentage and a 93% higher daily production rate than our previous reverse osmosis system.
The SmartFlow® Reverse Osmosis is tested and certified by WQA to NSF/ANSI Standards 42, 53 (includes P473), 58, 401, and CSA B483.1 to effectively reduce 90 contaminants, including 90% of fluoride. It’s also certified to reduce 99.99% of cysts, 99.9% of asbestos, 99% of lead, VOCs, and microplastics, and 96% of chlorine, chloramines, arsenic, pesticides, and herbicides — all while restoring healthy minerals that other reverse osmosis systems remove, providing you with optimum health and hydration.
The SmartFlow® Reverse Osmosis features a multi-stage filtration process to ensure maximum contaminant removal.
Stage 1: Carbon Block: Reduces chlorine, taste, and odor prior to reverse osmosis filtration.
Stage 2: SmartFlow® Membrane: Ultra-efficient, patented SmartFlow® membrane technology reduces fluoride, nitrates, nitrites, arsenic, PFOA/PFOS, and more.
Stage 3: Advanced Carbon Block: Claryum® filter block ensures maximum contaminant removal. Activated and catalytic carbon filtration combines with Ion-exchange and sub-micron filtration to tackle lead, microplastics, VOCs, mercury, and more.
Stage 4: Remineralizer: Remineralizes water to add back healthy, beneficial amounts of minerals that are lost in the reverse osmosis process. Improves pH balance and water alkalinity.
With the combined power of reverse osmosis, Claryum® filtration, and remineralization you have immediate access to clean, healthy water for drinking, cooking, washing your vegetables, and more.
The SmartFlow® has been designed to provide ultra-powerful filtration in a more compact design. A smaller tank size and smartly-designed chassis means this system takes up less under sink space than the leading reverse osmosis unit.
Our genuine and certified reverse osmosis filter replacements are engineered for the easiest replacement. No need to disconnect hoses or water lines — simply twist out and replace. The SmartFlow® Reverse Osmosis Carbon and Claryum® Filter Replacements will last for 365 gallons or up to 6 months. The Remineralizer Replacement will last for 6 months, as well. Our SmartFlow® Reverse Osmosis Membrane Replacement will last for 12 months.
The available all-metal dedicated faucet comes in four finishes — Chrome, Brushed Nickel, Matte Black, and Oil Rubbed Bronze — so you can match your kitchen décor. We also offer a “No Faucet” option so you can use your own faucet.

SmartFlow® Reverse Osmosis Under Sink System
Need a replacement filter?
Water filters are an effective way to provide your household with healthy, great-tasting water. However, waiting too long to replace your filter can cause your system to stop working, and it may even become a source of bacteria or mold. Prevent filter contamination by replacing it on time.
Get filters auto-delivered right when you need them — plus receive 15% off the price of replacement filters, free shipping, and an extended limited warranty on your filtration system. Protect your investment and save money with our no-contract Water for Life® program.
In most cases, an air gap faucet is not required, and standard faucets will work seamlessly with your reverse osmosis (RO) water filtration system. However, certain plumbing codes prohibit a direct connection between a drain line and a water-using device, requiring the installation of an air gap faucet or another type of backflow prevention device, such as a backflow preventer, on the drain connection. If this applies to your area, you will need to purchase the appropriate device separately to ensure compliance with local regulations.
In order to maintain the NSF/ANSI 58 certification of this product, the drain line installation must comply with the standard requirements of a vertical air gap of two pipe diameters or 25 mm (1 in), whichever is larger, or an air gap faucet that is tested and certified against NSF/ANSI 58 must be included.
Ensure water is flowing from the dedicated faucet. If the water is flowing, close the faucet and check the water pressure in one hour. This will allow enough time for the tank to fill.
If you’re still experiencing slow water pressure and it has been over six months since changing the filter, we recommend changing your filter.
The best flow rate will be 0.75 GPM when the tank is completely full. The flow rate may slow as the water is depleted from the tank.
Stage 1 (Carbon Block) and Stage 3 (Advanced Carbon Block) filter cartridges should be replaced every 6 months or up to 365 gallons. Stage 2 (SmartFlow® Membrane) should be replaced every 12 months depending on usage and water quality. For homes with higher water usage and/or poorer water quality, you may need to replace your SmartFlow® Membrane sooner than every 12 months. Stage 4 (Remineralizer) should be replaced every 6 months depending on usage and water quality.

Reverse osmosis is an incredibly effective method of filtering water, and it works by pushing water through a semi-permeable membrane (a porous block) at a high pressure to remove contaminants. As this pressurized water passes through the membrane, contaminants are left behind and only clean water passes through.
Our reverse osmosis system uses this process, in conjunction with a series of other filters, to increase effectiveness and retain healthy minerals that are often lost during the RO process. Water first passes through our Carbon Block to remove chlorine, taste and odor. Then, the system uses reverse osmosis filtration by pushing water through a semi-permeable SmartFlow® membrane at a high pressure to remove dissolved solids smaller than 1 micron. Next, our Advanced Carbon Block filter uses ion exchange and sub-micron filtration to remove heavy metals, chemicals including herbicides and pesticides, and other contaminants. Finally, our RO system uses remineralization technology to restore healthy minerals like calcium while improving the pH balance and alkalinity of water for exceptional taste.
TDS, or Total Dissolved Solids, is the amount of dissolved minerals and metals present in water. TDS meters tell you the concentration of dissolved minerals and metals, but they are not an accurate measurement for contamination. Aquasana products reduce and remove harmful TDS like lead but selectively retain or replace healthy dissolved solids like calcium. Read more about TDS here.
The SmartFlow® Reverse Osmosis comes standard with a 6-month Remineralizer designed to replace healthy minerals lost in the reverse osmosis process.
